Peak Oil, the moment where we are extracting the peak volume of oil from the globe, the point that will not be reached again, moving forwards from there the amount we extract will fall year on year until we run out.
Sounds like something from a sci-fi movie, yet its true.
When will Peak Oil happen ? as usual with most topics you will find a difference of opinion if you look around, some say it has happened globally, others that it has happened in particular countries and that globally it is about to happen. What we can be sure of is that if it has not happened yet, then it will do so very soon.
Obviously it will take decades for supply to run down, and during that time prices will have to rise. But as soon as it is accepted by everyone that peak oil has passed, it is going to be a big big subject, and that itself may well cause the price to go higher quicker then mere supply & demand would push it. Over reaction coming into play again.
